1.2 Milliard Dollar for Preventing Mixing in The New University

Hi people of the world,
First I want to congratulate Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their new highly advanced, mixed-gender and research based university, The King Abdullah Science and Technology University. We all have to admit that all people of the world are talking about that university. It turned the head of the people of the world, specially bloggers.
Quoted from Ansam's blog:
"Women will be able to mix freely with men in the context of work. She will not be forced to wear the black abaya, and will be able to drive inside the campus."

And what about Kuwait.....
I'll tell you what about Kuwait
Ministry of  Higher Education in Kuwait has ordered "extra" 1.2 Milliard Dollar to "enforce" preventing mixing in the new Kuwait University that will be built after your grand grand grand children born.
بالعربي يعني الجامعة تخلص سنة الفين وسلخفلوستعش.... سلخ-فلوس-تعش
There is also another "extra" budget for designing segregated buildings for the College of Medicine or Medical science.... whatever the college is called :)
Come on Kuwait. 1.2 Milliard could be spent for university researches, building a new hospital, enhancing schools, clinics, disabled people requirements or just give it to me :)

Think about it
Why do they want to prevent mixing?
They think that we go to university everyday to jump into the girls

They think that boys are the hungry wolves and girls are the sheep.

Shame on them

All what I can say is that going against the current is hard but Kuwait is doing it perfectly
Bravo KSA

Note: I said earlier that I will write two posts about Eid. Unfortunately, I will write just one tomorrow Enshalla. Sorry people of the world... sorry.. don't hit me please no .. no

And what good would that do? As if the graduates won't mix with the opposite gender while working; especially the physicians, pharmacists, and dentists. I wonder, would they buy more cadavers for anatomy students to study over since the genders will be separated? Just pure waste of money!!!

You are very right. The teaching staff is very small right now. So, In the future how are they going to teach between places way apart?
the solution is to increase staff member --> more budget

okay ... let's be objectivs

if u r a student of KU tell me does is mattar's if is there any mixing or Not ???

it's all about getting knowledge, searching & learning ... we're talking about the secondary issue more than proving that the students care's about knowledge .... which is primary

I rearlly hear about an sciantific article/argement by a student male/female ...

there is No beneficial/knowledgable out come ... unles if we r talking about money or politics
Just please tell me ... dO u THINK THAT MIXING IS THE Solution for our carelles lasy student ???

which issue is much important our acadimic studies or the atmosphear????????????????

also .. we dont have a pure/compleat apart between genders ... they meet at the campus ...also many clases are mixed ....

mexing or not is not the point that we should always argue about ... there is much more important issue ...

one of them ... is to find a programs to encouradge students for searching and inventing ...
isn't that is much important ...
and dont tell me about the wasted money by genders apart can be sused for searching programs becase u know that enhancing student knowledge is a lower lever than the atmospher 4 u ... that whay=t ur post says ... :)
Sorry i u r angry off me ... but this is my point ..

sorry for bad spellin but I dont have time

"if u r a student of KU tell me does is mattar's if is there any mixing or Not ???"
Simply... Doesn't matter

"dO u THINK THAT MIXING IS THE Solution for our carelles lasy student ???"
Maybe... Maybe not
I was a student in KU and I can say that there was some kind of competition between boys and girls in some classes and I liked it

"which issue is much important our acadimic studies or the atmosphear???????????????? "
For me both but you should know that the atmosphere is not about having girls in classes or to have them around. It's about providing computer labs, allowing professional societies to hold exhibitions in KU etc....

"also .. we dont have a pure/compleat apart between genders ... they meet at the campus ...also many clases are mixed ...."
You're right and now the goal is to completely separate them. Why? to prevent M7arem... What an academic answer

"mexing or not is not the point that we should always argue about ... there is much more important issue ..."
"prevent mixing" is the political name for big other problems lie beyond it. Boys can't get the best doctors for a certain course why?
because that doctor is reserved only for girls. The result is that boys will enjoy the shitty doctor. Sometimes it's the case we can't join some courses because it is "Girls only". So what should we do?
We should try to join it next semester = delay = hard luck

Thanx for the nice comment

People, segregating the genders will give rise to many problems and unfairness in teaching as some of u pointed out. It seems that those in charge haven't weighed the advantages against the disadvantages. U can't simply separate them and automatically assume all else will be improved and resolved. U have to look at the big picture. Everyday life interactions require mixing. Unless the government will start segregating everything (hospitals, stores, malls, restaurants, etc), then there is no point. That is the way I see it.

My suggestion is that instead of wasting all that money, discipline, manners, and behavior must be taught since childhood by the parents/caregivers. It all lies in how people were raised as kids. If you want to attain a "normal, well-balanced" society then deal with the root of the problem not the superficiality!

Wooow... I like your comment. I have to admit that it is better than the post itself

You're very right about the root of the problem. The problem here in Kuwait is that we don't see the core of the problem and try to solve it. Instead, we just attack it

Thank you

Thanks Addictioneer! I am just so sick and tired of all the money being wasted in unnecessary "projects." This country has so much potential and resources. Kuwait can easily move forward in a very short period of time given the right ideas and people implementing them.

You're right. We can't advance forward unless we kick some sick minds, those who come with bad ideas

take care... for you
and good luck.. Kuwait

like 4U said, you go to school to study. besides, if their aren't enough resources to accommodate gender separation, KU automatically switches to mix mode (both males and females in the same class).

There is no reason for removing gender separation policies all together. and to be completely frank, it's better that way. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/14/AR2008061401869.html

just read the article. kuwait was right to go with gender separation. it's only a matter of time until other countries follow.

looooool
I was asking myself Who is 4U until my eyes got 4H. So She's 4H
Nevermind

Dear SIGTERMer,
To be honest, I didn't read the article thoroughly .I just go over it and I've concluded that the article is talking about separation of the sexes in schools which is totally different than University.

Yes I agree with the attached article. Schools should separate sexes specially those grades that hold adults.
We are already following the separation of sexes in schools

But here we are talking about college. There, there is no more boys and girls. There is men and women. People who are academic and mature. They have to be prepared to do their job. Imagine that you've studied medical and become a doctor enshallah. Will you be shy to have a female nurse to help you?
Come on you have a job to do
You have a patient who's dying in front of you
You have a patient who want you to finish the pain of his teeth

At the end, you got a point that is very true
:)

having studied in public schools in the PAAET (CTS), i studied in a separated environment. post graduation, i worked in the private sector in a mixed environment. not only that, but because most of them are Christian, they didn't ware the 3abat or confirm to islamic dress standards. in fact, one of them got sent back home because of what she was waring (and our boss wasn't that religious). my point is that i worked just fine with these woman even though i didn't study in study in a mixed environment.

I'm not trying to pick a fight here, I'm just saying that separated environments do not result in people with poor communication skills towards the opposite gender. I, and all the other people who studied in these systems are living prof of it.

Eshd3wa take ra7tk. Everybody here can be right and wrong. This is your space. So have your say :)

"I'm just saying that separated environments do not result in people with poor communication skills towards the opposite gender"
Since you are the one who have experienced that then I can't say you're wrong and at the same time I don't want to enforce the case that you're right
Ash-hd enny m3qqad :D

Thanks for the nice comment and welcome
